From large custom builds, to minor repairs and decorating. Want the icing on the cake too? With our decor boutique we will bring your desired aesthetic to life. If we can’t make what your craving, we will personally curate it for you.
Who We Are
We are a women-owned small business based out of the beautiful Canyon Lake, Texas. Our specialties are in three different old French styles: French Countryside, Moody Victorian, and French Farmhouse.
At La Porte Decor we believe that your own unique space should be a place you yearn to escape to. A place of comfort and indulgence, whatever your style may be.
The term “La Porte“ is French for “The Gate”. The gate to where...well, wherever your imagination can take you...wherever you desire to be and whatever you desire to feel.
Chris Zepeda - Founder & CEO
Chris has had a love of old elegance ever since she was young. When Chris was around nine years old, she visited her grandmother and instantly became obsessed with her peach Victorian guest room. When Chris returned home, she worked tirelessly to transition her own bedroom into a beautiful, light yellow, floral oasis. In this space Chris spent many days imagining herself in glorious dresses, with large matching hats, and eating decadent desserts. Chris has since carried that love for old living with her, finding ways to get a taste here and there through watching period drama series and exploring French cuisine whenever she gets the chance.
Through life’s journeys (great and small, beautiful and challenging) Chris has developed a love of tinkering and woodworking. It is where she has found her peace. Being a paramedic and mother of four, she has come to find peace invaluable. “For me, serenity is when my mind quiets with the busyness of my hands while creating something new, and my eyes getting to watch it come to life.” - Chris. Throughout her life, these things have never changed: her love for all things old European, and her vision, creativity, and relentless drive to create. Chris has a strong passion for seeing not what something is, but for what it could be. This is why she created La Porte Decor.
